The Effectiveness of Our Work Will Be Measured by the Outcomes of Our Children. This belief guides the public education efforts of the Family Supportive Housing Center, LLC. Through The Visible Child Initiative, the Family Supportive Housing Center, LLC engages in public discussion and debate on issues related to homelessness. Public policy has not reflected the needs of children who have experienced homelessness, when in fact they make up the fastest growing homeless population. All children need to be surrounded by adults who care about them and understand their developmental needs. No one needs this healthy start more than children who have been homeless. Speaking up on behalf of homeless and formerly homeless children is the most effective way to insure that these children have the healthy start they deserve. The Center has developed this website to provide you with practical information, community research data, recommendations for public policy, and practical tools for practitioners and others serving our children. This site announces current public education efforts and legislative actions that impact homeless and formerly homeless children.
